Parliament House
About Parliament House
The meeting place for the Australian government and parliament, known as Capital Hill or simply "Parliament," is located in Canberra. The building sits on an apex at one corner of what some people call 'the triangle' - along with Commonwealth Avenue (leading up to it) & King’s Avenue leading out towards City Hall Gate across from Old Parliament House.
The seat of Australia's government, Parliament House, is often referred to as simply "Parliament." The building located on Capital Hill and overlooking the city centre has been home for more than 50 years since it first opened its doors in troublesome times. Nowadays, though, things are very different here; this iconic landmark serves not only as a meeting place between citizens but also provides them with insight into how their country operates through the democratic process.
